1.1

That's right, this week's episode of Running Wilde has plummeted to a 1.1 rating. Speculation now is that the show will be cancelled once football season is over.

So, apparently, many people signed the petition on facebook that co creator and star of the show Will Arnett put out there in an effort to save the struggling series. But despite all the signatures, the ratings were still terrible. Will: "Thanks to everyone who signed the petition..f**king ratings sucked...I guess America hates jokes?" William, you're so funny.

Why doesn't FOX care? Let's see, they do want fan loyalty. They do want show buzz. But most importantly, they want loyal fans to show their loyalty by actually watching the show, not tweeting about it.

Ok, so when I watch it, I don't think that it's a terrible show, and if the tv is on the channel, I wouldn't change it. Neither do my parents because they watch GLEE right before it. (?)
Point being: Glee is one of the stronger shows on television right now. So, how can you mess up directly following a star show? Apparently, you have to have a really bad show. I'm sorry, Running Wilde, but it seems that you had the perfect chance to succeed. Good night, time, placement, lead in, etc. and you still messed up. So it is with this knowledge that I say you deserve to be cancelled.

PS: If you're going to be cancelled, please hurry up so I can write a blog about it! Only 4 more weeks of class, aka 4 more chances for you to fail.

  1. You make a good point about Time slot, night, etc. Im surprised Fox would fail so terrribly with this one. I am sure that Running Wilde's replacement will be more thought out and have a bigger push.

  2. I have never watched an episode of Running Wilde, but from the first time i heard of it, i thought it would be pretty okay.... i mean Will Arnett is pretty great. That is a bummer for Will Arnett that his new show is getting cancelled. I read a few interviews with Will, and he seems to think that the show is great, and different, and joke filled, and totally surprised if it got cancelled.

But your right Marvo, if your going to cancel it, just do it.

  3. Poor Will Arnett. I've watched this show and it isn't horrible. The plot is kind of weird and it's narrated by that annoying child but the cast is solid. I agree with everyone on this, how could you mess up with everything (placement, lead-in, etc.). Fox has trouble gaining a following for non-cartoon comedies. Arrested Development was the best show on TV when it was going, had good DVD sales, there are making a movie now but could only last three seasons with the third being shortened on Fox.
