Ok, so what's the latest news about the show Running Wilde? Well, the ratings aren't too high, and the show is not doing as well as the producers had hoped. The rating fell another 17% this week, down to a 1.5. This would be the second show that FOX canceled, the first being Lone Star. FOX, seriously, what are you doing?
The problem is that this show is not generating any buzz. It has its little time slot, plays out every week, hopes that people were watching, and that's it. No internet traffic, discussion (other than possible cancellation) or anything. Other shows that FOX has on during this night should provide incentive to watch, for example, the strong show, Glee, and FOX's new promising show, Raising Hope. Rasing Hope has been holding a steady 2.5 rating.
FOX ordered 9 more episodes for Raising Hope, but not for Running Wilde. Another bad sign, on October 26, there will be back to back episodes of Raising Hope, instead of airing Running Wilde that week. It appears as though this show will disappear just like critics speculated.
But wait, not if lead star and co creator Will Arnett has anything to do about it! In an effort to save the show, he has created a petition on Twitter, urging the fans to sign it. The star-hopeful wants "a good 5 seasons," and says that America "just doesn't like jokes, I guess." You can also "like" the effort on Facebook.
Will Running Wilde be cancelled? Probably, especially if the ratings stay where they are or decline anymore. But why are the ratings so low? Is it because it's a bad show? I don't think so. Granted, there are better shows on tv. It just seems like such an inconvenience to watch tv at a certain time instead of when you want to.
